Welcome to our new Associate Pastor, Reverend Cheryl Murray !

Bring the Bible to life as you walk where Jesus and his disciples walked. Plan now to join Rev. John Johnson on a 10-day tour of the Holy Land, leaving on January 25, 2011.  An informational meeting for all those interested will be held on July 29 at 6:30pm at the church in room C12.

Coming Soon! Mission Possible Kids for 3rd through 5th graders and Glow Kids for pre-k through 2nd graders will begin in September. These programs are designed to instill love and compassion for others through mission service. Look for more information coming soon!

Congratulations to Pastor John on his ordination as an Elder in Full Connection in the United Methodist Church on June 7! Over thirty of our church members were present at this wonderful ceremony in Wichita Falls.  Thanks to Jeff Harshfield for sharing his beautiful photos of the event.

Volunteer needed to help in the church office on Wednesday mornings starting this fall to answer phones, prepare the weekly bulletins and greet visitors! Contact Samantha Brem, Office Manager.

Sonshine Kids Child Development Center still has openings for the 2010-2011 school year in our 3 year old and 5 day Pre-K classes. Please contact Janet Hilger or 214-513-1699 for registration information.

YOUTH!  Join our new Praise in Motion Liturgical Dance Ministry! No dance experience necessary! For guys and girls in grades 6 - 12. A workshop  will be held August 16, 17 and 18 from 9am to 1pm.  Come each day for whatever amount of time you can be there. Contact Sandy Ottenbreit for more information. 

Our 2nd Annual Family Retreat will take place October 8 - 11 at Beavers Bend State Park in Broken Bow, Oklahoma. This event is for young and old, campers and noncampers, professional or rookie minnow racers!  Contact Barb Nebrig at barb@nebrig.com for more details!

FMUMC 2010 Women's Retreat "Faith thru the Fires" November 5th - 7th.  Please fill out a registration form and submit it to the church office.

The 2010 Flower Calendar.  Please sign up to provide flowers on the altar for a Sunday to honor, celebrate or memorialize someone special.  The cost is $45. Sign up poster is on the wall outside the church office.
 
SCRIP Cards
 are available in the foyer every Sunday and throughout the week during office hours. 


 

 


As part of a missions team, a church member helps repair a garage for a disadvantaged couple in Dallas.

Mission Opportunities

Check out our Missions webpages to learn about the many ways we share God's love in our community and in the world. Come be a part of something wonderful!

As a Project Transformation volunteer you can help underprivileged children learn to read.  This year's dates are June 28 - July 1 and July 26 and 27.  Sign up in the church foyer.  Supplies are also needed - please see the list posted at the Project Transformation station in the foyer.  Come be a part of this worthwhile and rewarding mission! Amigo Days is a hands-on ministry to repair inner-city Dallas homes. Youth thru retirement age can take part in the revitalizing project. Please email Kathy Shirley or call her at 817-266-6191 to become part of this team.

Imagine No Malaria is a project of the United Methodist Church to eliminate malaria, a deadly disease, by 2015. Our children are collecting coins in their "Skeeter Beater Stomp Out Malaria" bug jars. Donation envelopes are also available in the narthex. Stay tuned for more ways to be involved in this incredible opportunity to be a part of changing the world as Jesus has taught us to do. "...let us love, not in word or speech, but in truth and action." 1 John 3:18. 

Pray for Haiti Bracelets are being sold by our Youth for $3. Proceeds go to Habitat for Humanity to build transitional housing in Haiti.

Family Mission Trip to the United Methodist Boys' Ranch in Gore, OK  - September 9 - 12, 2010.  Read all about this important opportunity for your family to share God's love!

International Mission Trip to Puerto Lempira, Honduras - June 17 - 26, 2011.  We will be building homes on the Moskito Coast in partnership with Habitat for Humanity. Read all about this amazing mission and how you can be a part of it!
