"Make a joyful noise to the God of our salvation!" (Psalm 95)
The words of Psalm 95 form the theme for our comprehensive ministry for all children of our congregation and community ages 3 through grade 5. (Three-year-olds may join on their birthdays.) We have fun and learn to serve God and our church while using and developing the musical gifts God gives us. We sing, ring, learn, move, pray, and play! Our five graded choirs and their meeting times are as follows:
- Angel Choir - Sundays from 5 - 5:50 pm - Vocal and Krystal Bells (3, 4 & 5 yrs old).
- Chapel Choir - Sundays from 5 - 5:50 pm - Vocal (grades 1 and 2).
- Chapel Chimes - Sundays from 6 - 6:30 pm - Handchimes (grades 1 and 2).
- Wesley Singers - Sundays from 5 - 5:50 pm - Vocal (grades 3-5).
- Wesley Ringers - Sundays from 6 - 6:30 pm - Handbells (grades 3-5)
We use a graded curriculum for each ensemble based on national standards developed by Choristers Guild and the Royal School of Church Music in America. The empasis is music education, fostering a sense of leadership and responsibility in our church, and giving older children a chance to mentor younger choristers.
By participating in children's choirs, your children become a vital part of the Worship Leadership Team, so we need a commitment from both parents and kids; the handchime and handbell groups require semester-long commitments.
